A key player in health and solidarity in Brittany, the Fondation ILDYS, recognized as a public utility, offers a comprehensive care and support pathway for all ages. Each year, 6,000 people are welcomed and benefit from holistic support across all areas of activity of the Fondation ILDYS: healthcare services, nursing homes (EHPAD), services dedicated to people living with disabilities, child protection, and family support. The Fondation ILDYS is continuously evolving, driven by teams engaged in research and innovation in all fields of activity. This dynamism is supported by strong networks and partnerships with organizations such as the Brest University Hospital (CHU), the University of Western Brittany (UBO), the UBO Open Factory, the INHLab consortium, (Cowork’hit, Fondation Pôle Saint Hélier , CMRRF de Kerpape, Fondation ILDYS, BSB), FEHAP, local businesses, and metropolitan areas within the Finistère region.
The ambition of the Fondation ILDYS is to make research and innovation a regular practice by breaking down barriers between the "research" and "clinical" sectors. The goal is to foster a culture of innovation among all stakeholders, encouraging them to embrace research as a reflex within their daily activities. The starting point for the Foundation's research projects or innovations is the identification of unmet needs among the people they support. Therefore, it is crucial for the Fondation ILDYS to involve users and their families in the development of innovations, to assess their needs and expectations, to promote co-construction, and to immerse them in this culture of innovation. Research allows the development of new therapies, particularly in the areas of disability and rare diseases such as cystic fibrosis. Through innovative approaches, the Fondation ILDYS strives to improve the support provided to those they serve and their caregivers while also anticipating and addressing emerging needs.
