MSc. in ore geology from NTNU, Norway  in1979. PhD in Metallurgy at NTNU, Norway in 1999. Subject of PhD thesis was HCFeCr process. Worked in various mining and  metallurgical companies including Mn-alloy and silicon plants  until 2006. From then working at SINTEF with projects within  FeSi and Si, Mn-alloys, HCFeCr, as well as with environmental challenges, CO2 emissions  and development of new process, especially based on gas- metal reactions . Main research field: pyrometallurgi, ores, quartz, carbon and biocarbon reductants, use of gases, H2 and CH4 in metal production
