About me
My organisation
PROTECT BALTIC’s main goal is to improve the biodiversity status of the Baltic Sea. We do this by providing national authorities with data-driven and up-to-date information on what needs protection, where, and from what threats. It is then up to the national authorities to decide what to prioritize. By covering ecosystem services and functions within the project’s scope, preparing manuals and guidance on designating MPAs and how to manage them effectively, we are giving countries a platform through which they can progress governance on a regional scale. In this way, we are working to improve the societal aspects of planning and implementing protection.
