About me
My name is Iveta Nováková, and I was born and educated in the Czech Republic. I concluded my education by PhD studies at Brno Technical University, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Institute of Technology of Building Materials and Components in 2021 with a thesis entitled „Behaviour of cementitious composites exposed to high temperatures“. During my years at university, I started to build up my research network through numerous international activities, like internships or conference participation, which gave me a great opportunity to work at an international scientific level. In 2017, my scientific career started at The Innovation Centre Iceland, under Prof. Olafur Wallevik, with research tasks such as the optimisation of special concrete types (low-carbon, vibration-free) mix design, durability and rheology. I joined UiT, The Arctic University of Norway in September 2019 as a researcher on two projects focused on recycling of construction and demolition waste. Since I started, I submitted numerous project applications with over 50% success rate and secured large funding for my research group DeTeA, established in 2022.
My main research topic are sustainability in the concrete and CDW management industry. I am leading or participating in about 6 national and international projects focused on circular economy and material flow in the Arctic region.
