Centrul de Ecologie Montană (CEM) is a non-profit ecological foundation based in Moieciu de Sus, Romania. Founded in 1998 by Michael Orleanu, a geophysicist passionate about mountain culture and nature, CEM focuses on the protection and sustainable development of mountain and alpine environments. The foundation conducts various studies and research projects aimed at preserving the natural landscape and biodiversity of the Carpathian Mountains. They also oppose urban-industrial tourism development in these regions to protect the local ecosystem.
