China Center for Information Industry Development, founded in 2000, is a public institution under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Widely known as CCID, it consists of 18 research institutes, including the Research Planning Institute, the Industrial Policy Institute, the Industrial Economy Institute and the Electronic Information Institute, operating business centers such as the China Software Testing Center and the China Electronic Science and Technology Exchange Center, managing over 20 wholly-owned or holding companies such as CCID Group, CCID Consulting (Stock Code: HK02176) and CCID Media. CCID has branches based in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Shandong and Hainan. CCID has a workforce of more than 2,000 people, over 51% of whom hold a postgraduate degree.
Since founded, CCID has been tasked with supporting decision-making processes, providing services to industries, swaying public opinion, and engaged in research and consulting, scientific and technological services as well as media, convention and exhibition, and has offered services to over 20 national ministries, over 400 local governments and over 5,000 businesses.
