Cellulose Harvesting

Frans Durieux

Managing Director at Purgatoria

Veessen, Gelderland, Netherlands

About

Our patented ICABUS technology uses 25 times larger holes to sieve cellulose from sewage than our competitor. We found a way to use the length of the fibre as a separating dimension, not its diameter. This results in a system that is not impacted by the fat in the sewage, which causes big issues with the others. We do not need high pressure air or water, warm water or even soap to keep the system clean. Energy consumption is factors lower, and virtually no maintenance is required to operate our technology.
Benefits remain a 10-15% increase in the capacity of your STP, lower sludge production and energy costs, and the creation of a pulp which can either be used in the circular economy or as a source for biogas.
