About me
Sascha Hardegger is CEO of Dufour Aerospace, building on his many years of experience in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and Search and Rescue (SAR) at Swiss Air-Rescue Rega. There, as member of the management board, he first headed the communications department, including Rega's famous patronage system, and later took charge of helicopter operations with 12 bases and the Operations Centre. He is the father of Rega's ambitious drone programme. Educated at the University of Zurich, he has worked as a journalist, as a media spokesperson for the Swiss federal department of justice and police and on peace-keeping missions abroad for the military. He is an aviation enthusiast with time spent flying planes, gliders, paragliders, RC-models, and drones.
My organisation
Dufour Aerospace develops efficient and sustainable aircraft for cargo transportation, logistics and public safety. It uses distributed electric propulsion and a hybrid module to be able to meet today's Advanced Air Mobility and medium-sized drone market requirements. Dufour Aerospace is developing the Aero2, an unmanned aerial vehicle designed for cargo transportation, aerial mapping/remote sensing and public safety applications. Aero2 can take-off and land vertically like a helicopter, but flies as fast and as energy efficient as an airplane, by virtue of its tilt-wing design. With its hybrid-electric propulsion, Aero2 is capable of transporting payloads of 40 kg / 88 lbs over a distance of 400 km / 250 miles in cargo configuration. Based on the same principles, Dufour Aerospace is also developing the Aero3, a crewed 8-seat aircraft to serve the requirements of Advanced Air Mobility markets, especially patient transportation and regional air mobility. The company has been incorporated in 2017 and has its headquarters in Visp, Switzerland, with a design office and testing facilities in Dübendorf. Currently, Dufour Aerospace employs 50 employees.
