About me
I am Associate Professor of Electrochemical Materials in WMG at the University of Warwick (UK).
I am a chemist by background and for the past 15 years my research activities have been focused on the development and characterization of battery materials and their implementation in cell prototypes. I completed my PhD in 2015 on the design and characterization of sodium-ion battery materials at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) and gained broad experience in electrochemical energy storage systems during her postdoctoral appointments at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (California, USA) and at the Helmholtz Institute Ulm (Germany).
My research activities at WMG are directed towards the understanding of the processes governing lithium and sodium-ion batteries. At the Energy Innovation Centre, I am working toward the development and scale up of new battery chemistries from concept to full proven cell prototypes. I am Principal Investigator in WMG (as WP leader or Task leader) in several EU-funded projects (e.g. SIMBA, SALAMANDER, RESPECT, eNargiZinc, EPISODE) and I serve as technical advisor for the “New and Emerging battery technologies” Working Group 1 of Batteries Europe/BEPA.
