My organisation
ITC-AICE is a research company that has been devoted to the research of the processes that are invoved in the ceramic sector, in order to help this industry. In the last years, the institute has been working in the recovery of critical raw materials, as the ceramic sector is also affected by the lack of some raw materials. Particularly, ITC is focusing on the recycling of Li-ion batteries as they contain valuable materials considered critical by the EU. The research about the recycling of Li-ion batteries is centered in the technology of direct recycling of the active cathode material.
About me
I am a chemical Engineer with more than 20 year experience in the field of chemical characterisation. I have been working in the field of battery recycling for the last 7 years, supporting direct recycling method as it is the most suitable for CAM recovery due to its minimal impact on the environment and being less energy-intensive.
My research is focused on the development of regeneration processes to recover the degraded CAM from end-of-life LIBs, studying the chemistries that nowadays are mostly being used in EV batteries.
