About me
Jeremy Riro is a Board Member & Treasurer at the African Federation of Business Angels Networks (AFBAN). He is a distinguished scholar of entrepreneurship; with a particular interest in the nexus around entrepreneurship, economic development & structural transformation in Africa. His professional background is in Finance (Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions & Project Finance), Entrepreneurship & Accounting.
Jeremy is the Founder and Managing Partner at Fie-Consult; an Investment Advisory & Management Consulting firm with offices in Nairobi, Kenya and Kigali, Rwanda but working across Africa. He has more than 10 years’ experience in investment advisory & strategy consulting across different sectors; but takes specific leadership in the Agribusiness, Energy & Development Sectors at Fie-Consult.
Jeremy is also the Founder and Innovation Lead at Fie_Labs Innovation Hub – an innovation and entrepreneurship hub in Kisii, Kenya; that is focused on identifying, nurturing, showcasing & scaling innovations from rural communities that are solving local social-economic challenges. In addition, Jeremy is the Chief Investment Officer at Fie-Partners - an investment company focused on investing in scalable & sustainable businesses across Africa. He is also a Co-Founder and an angel investor at Tembo Business Angels Network (Tembo Angels).
Jeremy is a Board Member & Treasurer at AfriLabs - a network of more than 400 innovation hubs across 54 countries in Africa. Previously, Jeremy served as a Board Member & Treasurer at the Association of Startup and SMEs Enablers of Kenya (ASSEK) (2019 – 2020) as well as a Board Member & Treasurer at the Association of Countrywide Innovation Hubs (ACIH) in Kenya (Jan 2022 – Dec 2023).
