SmartAgriSense – Edge-AI & Sensor Fusion for Resilient Agriculture
Prof. Dr.-Ing. | Researcher at Sensorik-ApplikationsZentrum (SappZ)
Regensburg, Germany
About
We are looking for partners to join a Horizon Europe proposal under Cluster 6 – FARM2FORK (call: Digital technologies for resilient, inclusive and competitive agri-food systems). The project aims to develop a modular, AI-powered sensing and prediction system for early detection of stress factors in agriculture (e.g. drought, nutrient deficiency, pests).
The system will combine:
-
Multi-sensor platforms (optical, thermal, radar, hyperspectral, soil moisture)
-
Edge AI on mobile platforms (drones, rovers, quadruped robots)
-
Stationary long-term monitoring nodes
-
Weather & agri-data fusion
-
Deep learning-based decision support
-
Open APIs for integration with farm machinery
We are especially seeking:
-
Agronomy experts & farmers for field validation
-
Tech partners in sensor development, edge computing, and remote sensing
-
Data providers (weather, soil, satellite)
-
Agricultural machinery companies for API integration
-
Stakeholders in sustainability & digital agriculture
The project could be coordinated by the OTH Regensburg (Germany) with strong experience in sensor systems, AI, and sustainability. However, we are also happy to be part of a consortium.
Let’s collaborate for smarter, greener, more resilient farming in Europe!
