About

Collaborative Education & Citizen Science for Resilient River Ecosystems

We propose a transformative initiative focused on river ecosystems, aligning with the European Green Deal, the EU climate adaptation strategy, and the EU water resilience strategy. This project addresses climate change, biodiversity loss, and freshwater scarcity through a "from source to sea" approach, emphasizing the importance of caring for the entire river system, from its source to its mouth.

By managing and restoring the natural water cycle throughout the full length of the river, we aim to enhance water resilience, protect biodiversity, and ensure the sustainability of critical services such as water supply, flood mitigation, and fisheries. Through multistakeholder dialogues involving communities, youth, art, and science, we will co-create solutions that foster climate resilience, reduce flood and drought risks, and restore biodiversity across the watershed.

Our project will strengthen water governance, improve water use efficiency, and develop cost-effective solutions for alternative water resources. By focusing on integrated, cross-sectoral management, we will help create a water-resilient Europe while safeguarding ecosystems and ensuring equitable access to freshwater.

Areas of Activity:

  • Water and Climate Action

  • Citizen Science and Co-Creation

  • Community Engagement in Environmental Decision-Making

  • Youth Empowerment in Climate Action

  • Art and Science Integration for Environmental Advocacy

This opportunity invites diverse stakeholders—from NGOs to local communities, youth groups, and policymakers—to collaborate on impactful climate adaptation strategies for river systems, blending traditional knowledge with cutting-edge science.
