About
Giresun Governorship is the highest public authority in the province of Giresun, located on the eastern Black Sea coast of Türkiye. The institution is responsible for the implementation and coordination of national policies at the regional level, with a focus on public service delivery, rural development, environmental protection, sustainable agriculture, cultural heritage preservation, and social cohesion.
The Governorship has a strong track record in managing and supporting EU-funded projects related to green transition, circular economy, food safety, and rural innovation. It collaborates actively with local stakeholders including farmers, cooperatives, universities, NGOs, and regional agencies. Through its EU and Foreign Relations Office, the institution develops project proposals, facilitates international partnerships, and leads field implementation activities.
In the context of Horizon Europe Cluster 6, Giresun Governorship is actively looking for international project partners to co-develop proposals in the areas of food safety, sustainable farming systems, biodiversity monitoring, and digital rural transformation. The institution seeks to build consortia with partners that bring scientific, technical, or community-based expertise to complement its role as a public regional implementer.
In particular, Giresun Governorship is interested in partnering with:
-
Research institutions and universities with experience in plant protection, sustainable crop management, food safety regulations, and carbon footprint analysis
-
Agri-tech SMEs offering digital tools, smart farming systems, post-harvest technologies, and biological solutions for pest and toxin control
-
Public authorities or municipalities working on climate-resilient agriculture, rural innovation, or integrated food policies
-
Non-governmental organizations, cooperatives, and networks involved in rural development, community engagement, farmer training, and environmental awareness
Through these partnerships, Giresun Governorship aims to contribute local know-how, operational capacity, and regional policy alignment to ambitious EU consortia working toward the goals of the Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy.
