About

Bialystok University of Technology (BUT), established on December 1, 1949, is the largest technical university in northeastern Poland. Located in Białystok, the capital of the Podlasie region (called the green lungs of Poland), the university has a rich history of over 70 years in educating engineers and conducting scientific research.

Mission and Vision

BUT is dedicated to providing high-quality education to students and young scientists, conducting scientific research at the highest international standards, and commercializing research outcomes. The university works with the business sector to implement innovative technical solutions that enhance economic innovation through its initiatives.

Bialystok University of Technology is a member of the European University alliance - ACROSS, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation across Europe.

BUT actively engages in international cooperation, maintaining over 500 bilateral agreements with scientific and educational institutions worldwide. The university participates in programs like Erasmus+ and collaborates with foreign partners on academic and research initiatives.

Bialystok University of Technology is actively involved in international research initiatives funded by Horizon Europe, Interreg, and other EU programmes. The university also implements projects supported by national sources, including the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the Ministry of Education and Science (NCN). These projects address key challenges in sustainability, innovation, and regional development through interdisciplinary collaboration.
