Solving data challenges to accelerate decision-making in defense applications such as critical infrastructure monitoring and mine countermeasures
My organisation
Cathx Ocean optical perception sensors are deployed on Autonomous Underwater Vehicles since 2016 allowing capture of large area imagery from fast moving Autonomous Underwater Vehicles. Our optical and laser sensor solutions address the historical challenges with acquiring visual imagery at high speed in poor water conditions where traditional optical imaging was not possible.
In response to industry challenges since 2020 , the company has developed visual pipeline tracking and auto target detection capabilities using data from these sensors and we are now working with Autonomous system manufacturers, developers and users to accelerate deployment of sensor agnostic edge based data solutions for a range of sensors and use cases in the subsea and maritime domains. These include sonar and non optical data sets.
Our objective is to reduce the requirement for specialist personnel in the Autonomous Survey data workflow and to ensure critical information can be extracted from data as it is acquired.
We achieve this through a sensor agnostic workflow management platform, Clarity , that allows development of workflow sequences and data solutions so that they an be deployed on a vessel topside, in the cloud or most importantly at the edge on the vehicle when the data is acquired. We operationalise client machine learning capabilities through addressing the full data workflow and mission needs.
Our strategic focus is to deliver on real time change detection capabilities in optical and sonar domains and to enable scalable deployment of AUV and USV swarms for subsea defence applications. If this is of interest to you please contact us sales@cathxocean.com
