About me
Hélio Jorge is a R&D Technical Manager and Researcher of the Innovation and Development department of the Technological Centre for Ceramics and Glass Industries, sited in Coimbra, Portugal. He received his degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Coimbra and a Ph.D. in Polymer Processing at the University of Minho. He is mostly experienced in applied R&D collaborative projects with industry and technological centres, in development of material technologies and new products, from traditional to advanced ceramics, metals and hard metals.
One of the main research topics is in powder technologies, especially the Powder Injection Moulding (PIM), both metals, ceramics and cemented carbides, development of binders, with an awarded patent and several presented papers. Additive Manufacturing is a current topic of working, mainly the two-step printing and sintering technologies, both metals and ceramics. The academic collaboration has been mainly under industry interest thesis co-supervising, applied R&D projects, and being part of the M.Sc. and Ph.D. juries.
