CETPartnership Transition Initiative 2 - Advanced renewable energy (RE) technologies for power production - is organising three online sessions about solar, wind and offshore technologies to provide an opportunity to the clean energy research and innovation community to identify critical gaps in R&I for potential collaborative joint projects.
The second panel scheduled on the 30th of October will address offshore renewable energy including a round of interaction with our funded projects. Offshore renewable energy, particularly wind, wave, and tidal power, holds immense potential to contribute to the global transition toward a low-carbon future. As Europe aim to meet ambitious climate targets, offshore renewable energy is becoming increasingly critical. However, realizing this potential involves addressing numerous challenges across technology development, environmental sustainability, and economic viability.
The aim of this workshop is to identify the grand challenges in offshore renewable energy, spanning from technological advancements to sustainability. The workshop will bring renowned international experts and the CETPartnership projects to collaboratively discuss solutions and strategies that can accelerate the deployment of offshore renewable energy while mitigating its environmental impacts.
The objective is to the foster knowledge sharing among projects and foster collaboration with the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership on the aspects of coexistence of energy technologies in the marine environment and mitigation of impacts on marine life and ecosystems, sustainable installation practices, use of the sea.
