CM2024-01: Energy-Data-Space Interoperation Rules, Protocols and Interfaces for Seamless Interoperability

Gerald Franzl

senior researcher at University for Continuing Education Krems - DISS

Wiener Neustadt, Austria

About

Apply the rules outlined in the IES Cookbook (see files) to first specify, than implement, and finally test, the core functionalities required to interconnect diverse data sources into the envisaged, openly and interoperable linked/meshed, energy data space.

In the course of specifying -> implementing -> testing, readily operational prototypes of the software modules and interfaces required to establish a dynamically linked data space shall be developed and added to existing energy data hubs in order to link them into the newly established (ERA-Net) Energy Data Space.

Reliable access, authentication, and authorisation mechanisms (distributed AAA management) shall enable secure and safe on-demand any-time data access for eligible users only. To detect, attest, and thereby prevent misuse, all transactions need to be identifiable logged by an independent and non-manipulateable system, e.g., an open block-chain. Every data owner shall have unlimited access to all logs that refer to owned data, and the right to block any user or user group if access is not enforced by law.

Basic actors should be: Data Owner, Data User, Data Processor, Data Hub, Owner/User Registration, distributed AAA-Controler, secure Logging System, Format Parser, Data Crawler/Collector.

Approved existing Integration Profiles from IHE on IT services (https://profiles.ihe.net/ITI/ and https://profiles.ihe.net/ITI/TF/Volume1/index.html)) shall be integrated and not reinvented.

Any new Integration Profile is published as trial version (TRL3) until implementation has been successfully tested by independent peers and thereby profile maturity objectively approved (TRL6).
