Inkjet for Solid Oxide Cell

Bernhard Malicek

Research Associate at Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation

Germany

About

Inkjet offer a reat opportunity for scalability and high quality control production of solid oxide fuel cells and solid oxide electrolysis cells. It also enables the 3D structurizing of the electrode and electrolyte interface and therefore increases 3 phase boundaries, which govern the performance of the cell itself.

Our project aim is to develop a production of solid oxide fuel cells via inkjet at a demonstration scale. This should offer a direct step into real industrialized production of performance improved solid oxide cells.
