The involvement of ESCo SunCity Group as one of our shareholders, with a 49% stake held by A2A, one of the largest Italian utilities, allows us to have an internal and multi-perspective understanding of the energy market.

Our platforms support balancing service providers, virtual power plants, BEMS, Smart Grid networks, and research projects. These solutions revolutionise energy production, storage, management, and distribution, contributing to a more open and sustainable energy market.

Apio has gained significant experience in creating digital solutions and business models for leading companies in the energy sector, including ACEA, ARETI, ENI, and A2A, as well as major national and international industrial players like De Cecco and Denso. As an innovative company, Apio has been actively involved in European Union-funded projects for years and collaborates with the ENEA research center on building energy efficiency.

We have obtained two patents that demonstrate our commitment to innovation: one focuses on managing home automation and sensor networks, and the other is for a device that certifies the measurement of electrical parameters and customer flexibility, enhancing communication with Distribution System Operators. Apio has partnered in European projects such as Ontochain, Platoon, Hedge IoT, and RomeFlex, focusing on network ontology and flexibility.
