By-product valorization
About
HSL Technologies has developed and patented an innovative hydrogen carrier called “HydroSil”, a liquid silicon hydride derivative, which is stable, non-toxic, non-explosive and non-dangerous. It enables to release hydrogen at the consumption site easily, on-demand and without any external energy input.
By releasing hydrogen, a by-product is generated. The objective of the project is to :
1- Test and analysis the physio-chemical characteristics of the silica by-product for different versions
2- Perform a bibliographic research of silica users and market targets
3- Compare physio-chemical results and market target selection
4- Perform techno-Economic - TEC, Life Cycle Assessment - LCA and Reglementary framework studies
5- Study and design a By-product Recycling Unit system (+ re-use the recycled silica to create a product with the offtaker)
