Biomass Energy Network: A Regional Approach to Sustainable Heat and Power (BERASH-P)
About
Highlights:
-
Optimal supply chain which is resistant to fluctuating demand is produced.
-
Location and the number of all facilities (production and storage) are optimized.
-
Different technologies in production facilities are considered.
-
Allocation and transportation activities are optimized.
Description:
This project seeks to design and optimize a regional network of biomass-based energy production facilities that efficiently generate heat and electricity. By harnessing biomass resources, the project supports a renewable energy system with minimized emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. Our approach includes planning and constructing strategically located production and storage facilities that leverage diverse processing technologies suitable for various biomass feedstocks.
In addressing regional demand uncertainties, the project applies advanced algorithms to optimize facility locations, quantities, and allocations within the network. This ensures adaptability to fluctuating energy needs while minimizing operational costs and environmental impact. Additionally, transportation logistics are streamlined for maximum efficiency, guaranteeing that heat and electricity reach communities and industries with minimal losses.
Social benefit:
The project not only enhances energy security by reducing dependency on external energy sources but also fosters local economic development through the establishment of new jobs in plant operation, maintenance, and transportation. This initiative contributes to a circular economy by promoting sustainable resource use and recycling organic waste as biomass feedstock. The project also supports rural communities by offering new income streams through biomass sourcing, thus bridging the urban-rural economic gap. Through environmentally conscious practices, the project prioritizes public health by lowering greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing air quality.
What we seek?:
In this project, we need a partner having a solid expertise and/or capability in -at least- one of the following topics:
-
Estimating essential parameters (eg cost, demand, etc) via cutting-edge AI algorithms
-
Providing implementation opportunity
-
Software development (management panel, coding algorithm, etc)
Please feel free to offer your benefits.
