Sunchild First Nation Pilot 500 KW Geothermal Energy Project
About
The novel project aims to repurpose abandoned/inactive oil and gas wells to generate clean electricity, 24/7 from a renewable geothermal energy reservoir. Two (2) selected wells, from the 26 abandoned and inactive wells, will be repurposed into one (1) production well and one(l) injection well by deepening the depth of the wells with bottom hole temperatures of over 80 C to ensure that the heat will be sufficient to generate electricity by the use of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology.
