My organisation

The Institute for Power Systems Technology and Power Mechatronics (EneSys) at the Ruhr-University Bochum is engaged in system-oriented research in the following areas: renewable energy sources and especially wind power, electric mobility, mechatronic drivetrains and power electronics for industrial applications. The range of research activities includes conception/design and optimisation of energy conversion systems and mechatronic drivetrain systems for wind turbines, grid integration of decentralized generation system in smart grids as well as development of energy storage systems for mobile and stationary applications. Projects/Cooperations: EneSys is currently coordinating and participating in various national as well as European (Horizon 2020) research and industrial projects. Centrally located in the most populous state of Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia, EneSys cooperates with various stakeholders in the energy, industrial and transport sectors such as manufacturers, private and public service providers and applied research centers. The university: The Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is one of the strongest research universities in Germany. It is organised in 20 faculties and is home to 5,000 employees, 2,500 scientists and over 40,000 students from 130 countries. It’s internationally recognised collaborative research, the promotion of its young scientists and the ability to quickly implement far-reaching reforms form the basis for its good international reputation.
