About me
I am a faculty member at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul, Türkiye. I also conducted experimental studies at the Hydrogen Research Center at the same university. Currently, I am a visiting researcher at Ontario Tech University in Ontario, Canada.
My expertise lies in hydrogen and integrated systems, where I have made significant contributions through theoretical and experimental studies. This multidisciplinary approach allows me to explore various aspects of energy systems and contribute to their optimization.
I received my Ph.D. in the field of renewable energy and hydrogen in March of 2023 by conducting experimental and modeling studies on green hydrogen production and blending with natural gas through integrated systems.
My research findings have been published in reputable journals, indexed in Scopus in the first quartile, such as the Energy, Energy Conversion and Management, Applied Thermal Energy, Fuel, Chemosphere, and International Journal of Hydrogen. I am proud to have contributed to the literature in these areas. I also presented my studies at more than 20 international conferences.
I conduct analyses of renewable energy and hydrogen-based sustainable energy systems through the energy and exergy approach by performing thermodynamic, cost, and environmental impact assessments by utilizing Aspen Plus, Engineering Equation Solver, HOMER Pro, NREL System Advisor Model (SAM), and Hydrogen Economy Evaluation Program (HEEP).
I have been recognized for my research contributions throughout my academic journey. I received the Best Thesis Award for my outstanding doctoral research at Yildiz Technical University. Additionally, I was ranked as the fourth most published researcher at Yildiz Technical University in 2023. Notably, I have contributed as a researcher in industrial and university-funded projects such as renewable gas production and the experimental investigation of hydrogen and natural gas combustion performance. These projects align with my commitment to advancing clean energy technologies and exploring the potential of hydrogen as a sustainable fuel.
