Dr. Ibrahim Halil Demirel is an Assistant Professor at Batman University, specializing in Civil Engineering with a focus on Hydraulics and Hydrology. He holds a Ph.D. from Yıldız Technical University, Hydraulics Department, and Dr. Demirel has a Master’s degree from Fırat University, in environmental Hydraulics.
Since joining Batman University in 2014, Dr. Demirel has held various academic positions, progressing from Lecturer to Assistant Professor. He currently serves as the Head of the Construction Division at Kozluk Vocational School and is a member of several boards and committees within the university, including the Energy Coordination Department and the Erasmus+ Unit.
Dr. Demirel’s research interests encompass water resources engineering, hydrology, pipe and open channel hydraulics, hydropower, and climate change. He has authored numerous publications in reputable journals and conferences, contributing significantly to the field of hydropower and water resource management.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Demirel actively participates in various scientific and professional activities. Dr. Demirel is also dedicated to community service, acting as the Deputy Representative for the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, Reforestation, and the Protection of Natural Habitats (TEMA) in Batman Province. His commitment to education and environmental sustainability is evident through his involvement in various educational initiatives and competitions.
