About me
Business Manager, he is currently a Partner of the company Get2C and was an administrator in the state's business sector, in the area of the environment, at EDM – Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro, S.A., having been responsible for the area of environmental protection, resource management and prospecting for critical and strategic raw materials for the energy transition. He was also Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly of Assimagra and member of the Board of Directors of the Portugal Mineral Resources Cluster, and is also coordinator of the Mineral Platform – Collaborative Platform for the Communication of the Mineral Resources Sector. He is a jury member of the climate change indicator of the ECOXXI Municipalities Program – Green Flag, as well as of the Eco Parishes program, and a member of the Task Force for the recognition of Climate as a Common Heritage of Humanity, at the United Nations. He is an invited member of the Advisory Board of the Guimarães 2030 Mission Structure, as well as of the Leiria 2030 Region Development Ecosystem Mission Structure. It coordinates, participates and, in some cases, chairs several Strategic and Advisory Councils of projects dedicated to Sustainable Development, Circular Economy and Decarbonization of the Economy, such as the Roadmaps for the Decarbonization of Industry and the Pink Circle Cities Network. He is co-founder of the Adapt.Local Cities Network, dedicated to climate action in Municipalities, and also held positions in the XXI Constitutional Government, in the Ministry of Environment and Energy Transition, as Chief of Staff of the Secretary of State for the Environment. At the municipal level, he served as deputy councilor, for a decade, with the areas of Environment, Urban Services, Mobility, Municipal Civil Protection, Urbanism and International Relations. He was founding President of the research, interpretation and environmental education center Laboratório da Paisagem, in Guimarães and member of the Board of Directors of CVR – Waste Recovery Center and the company Vitrus AmbienteEM, SA. He is regularly invited as an expert in initiatives in the area of sustainable development and author of the book "The Mission of Cities in the fight against climate change", as well as several scientific and opinion articles.
He holds a Master's degree in International Relations and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Law, is also a specialist in Development Cooperation, being a Textile Engineer (chemical branch), with basic training and an effective member of the Order of Engineers, in the College of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Portuguese is the mother tongue and has advanced knowledge of English.
