About me

Andrea Millerani Trapani is the Programme Manager of the OCCAR Multi Modular Patrol Corvette (MMPC) Programme Division.

Captain of Italian Navy, he was born in Genoa (Italy) on 21th of September 1971.

He joined the Navy in 1990. He graduated with a BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 1997 and has a Master in Electrotechnics-Mechanics & Automation at University of Rome La Sapienza.

After serving on board IT NAVY warships, he held several assignments within defence procurement and Navy General Staff branches as:

·         Head of the European Naval Programmes for the Italian Navy General Directorate for Weapons and Ships;

·         Head of the Procurement, Financial and Commercial Department of the Italian Navy Shipyard based in Taranto (Italy);

·         Italian Naval Logistic Support Command as Programme Manager for the modernisation and refurbishment of the aircraft carrier Cavour to acquire F35 fighter jet capability;

·         Director of the Italian Navy Shipyard based in Brindisi (Italy);

·         Italian Navy General Directorate for Weapons and Ships, national and international naval programmes, as expert in the technical and procurement area.

In November 2023 he joined OCCAR as Programme Manager for the MMPC Programme Division.

My organisation

OCCAR (Organisation Conjointe de Coopération en matière d'Armement / Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) is an international organisation whose core-business is the through life management of complex, cooperative defence equipment programmes.

The organisation was established by means of the OCCAR Convention which is equivalent to an international treaty. The Convention was signed in 1998 and entered into force in 2001.
