Chetan Tolia

UBS Next is the group’s venture and innovation unit that invests in early stage fintechs and partnerships through the Next VC investing arm and runs an internal incubator for innovation projects that aims to convert ideas into viable businesses. Focussing on the future, UBS Next is responsible for enabling the firm to innovate its business model and leverage the latest technology in order to remain relevant in a digitally disruptive age. Chetan is passionate about innovation mindsets and how large established firms can innovate their approach and culture to remain competitive in a rapidly changing environment where FinTechs and BigTechs have increasing prominence. Joining UBS as an intern in 1997 he has held several change management and transformation roles in both business and technology divisions out of London and Zurich. Chetan is a UBS Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity Ambassador and active in the UBS MOSAIC network that focuses on ethnicity DE&I, including a member of the its strategic oversight forum. He holds a 1st class honours degree in Software Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology. Originally from Nairobi, Kenya he lives with his wife and son in Zurich.
