About

Blue collar workers in large companies (with over 500 employees) do not have access to computers, so the communication between them and the employer is difficult. They have also limited access to important company data.

Based on research (data from book Exploring Internal Communication and report State of the Global Workplace by Gallup):
- 93% of employees want to know how their work contributes to the goals of the company and the achievements of their company
- 97% want to know the plans of their company
- but at the same time 74% of employees feels that important information from the company's life is missing them.

Here is the perspective of the employer:
- so far the companies mainly promoted themselves outside but now building their image within the organisation is equally important
- they want their employees to trust the company
- they want their employees to have a direct access to important company data.

This may be achieved by a well-driven internal communication.

Intranet is only available for office workers. Info kiosks are one solution, but their accessibility is limited and workers are reluctant to use them. Wall-mounted monitors only allow for one-way communication.

The solution is a mobile application that may be installed on the private phones of the employees.

It was deployed e.g. at Volkswagen, NGK Ceramics, Phoenix Contact for over 20 000 employees.

The app allows for sending brief posts created by the company about what's happening in the company. Additional features include: shift schedules, polls and quizzes, kaizen ideas (submitted by the employees), internal recruitments, announcement board, daily cafeteria menu, sign-ups for company events or even the possibility to manage employee transport by buses and allow the employees to buy the tickets.

The benefits from the implementations are as follows:
1. The number of people reading internal communications increases up to 80%.
2. The ability to closely monitor which content employees are reading and which features they use.
3. Information reaches a very large number of people within minutes of content publication thanks to push notifications.
4. The possibility of two-way communication, e.g., through comments in the app or surveys and quizzes.
5. 24-hour access to content and tools from anywhere
