About me
Nathalie Loiseau is the chair of the European Parliament’s EU Democracy Shield special committee and Renew Europe group coordinator in the committee on Security and Defence (SEDE), which she chaired during the 9th Legislature of the European Parliament. She is also a member of the committees on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and first vice president on the delegation for relations with the South Caucasus. Between 2020 and 2023, she was also member of the committee on Foreign Interference in electoral processes, including disinformation (ING2) and, between 2020 and 2024, she has chaired the European Parliament’s delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly.
In 2019, she led the Renaissance list during the European elections.
Minister for European Affairs in the French government from 2017 to 2019, she was the dean of the École nationale d’Administration (ENA) for five years, from 2012 to 2017, and diplomat within the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She studied at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (IEP) and at the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO).
She is the author of “Si l’Europe n’existait pas”, of “La guerre qu'on ne voit pas venir”, an essay on foreign interference, of “Choisissez Tout”, an essay on women’s rights, and of two comic books: “La Démocratie en BD” and “L’Europe en BD”.
