About me
Obtained her law degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in 2009. In 2011, she was awarded the Chevening Scholarship by the Government of the United Kingdom and Great Britain in order to pursue her master's degree in the United Kingdom. In 2012, she successfully completed her Master of Laws (LL.M), specialising in International Financial Law, at King's College London in London. During her professional practice, she has worked at the law firm Raful Sicard & Polanco on issues related to the stock market, trusts, among others, and worked as Manager of the Legal Compliance Department-Subsidiaries of Grupo Popular, S.A., focusing her professional practice on Financial Law (both in the Capital Market and in the Monetary and Financial area), Administrative and Investment Law. She was Director of Communications at the British Embassy Santo Domingo and Secretary General of the Development and Exports Bank of the Dominican Republic (BANDEX). Currently, she is a designated Counselor at the Dominican Embassy in the United Kingdom and serves as the Head of the Commercial Section/Director of Trade.
Ms. Stern teaches various courses, diplomas and seminars related to the financial markets, investment law and FinTech topics (innovation in financial technologies). She has been a professor of Law of Regulated Markets at the Universidad Iberoamericana and Securities Law at the Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and is a postgraduate professor at PUCMM where she teaches the subject Banking Operations Standards in the Master of Banking Management and International Financial Markets. She is also a teacher of the class "Regulation of Financial Markets" and “Current Trends of the Financial Markets” in the Master of Financial Law. She teaches the legal module in the diploma courses on Capital Markets of the Stock Market and Securities Markets of the Dominican Republic in collaboration with the APEC University, PUCMM and UNIBE and has taught in the diploma courses on financial matters organised by FINJUS, ASOFIDOM among others. She has served as a speaker at international conferences (CIFA, SELACTA) on topics related to new technologies (FINTECH, Smart Contracts, Blockchain, Open Banking, among others).

The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland defends and promotes Dominican interests, culture and commerce. It also provides information about economic and political developments in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, the Embassy offers consular services such as visas, renewal of passports, translation and certification of documents, witnessing signatures, issuing power of attorney and sworn declarations.
