Aldo Gago
Group Leader - Electrolysis
German Aerospace Center (DLR)
Stuttgart, Germany
About me
Dr. Aldo Gago studied physics at University of Guadalajara, Mexico. He earned his doctorate degree in chemistry in 2011, from University of Poitiers, France. His supervisor was Prof. Nicolas Alonso-Vante. One year later, he joined the section of Electrochemical Energy Technology of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Germany. Since then, he has been leading the R&D activities on nanomaterials and cell components for hydrogen generation via low temperature electrolysis, with important projects in cooperation with academy and industry. He has several granted patents and published numerous articles in high impact factor journals, as well as book chapters. In 2016, he and co-workers were awarded with the 2nd place F-Cell prize “Innovative materials and components for PEM electrolysis” for their contributions in the field. He is currently responsible for the Group Low Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells and Electrolysis. He is co-founder of the spin-off company Cutting Edge Nano-Materials (CENmat).
