Nikolaus Fleischhacker

Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. Nikolaus Fleischhacker BSc MSC studied civil engineering, environmental engineering and domotronics at the University of Innsbruck, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science, Diplomingenieur, Master of Science and Doctor of Technical Sciences degrees. Since 2012, he has been working first as a University Assistant at the Department of Solid and Bridge Engineering and then as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Engineering at the University of Innsbruck. In 2014, together with his father, he founded the FEN Sustain Systems GmbH (FEN Systems), where he has since served as CTO, assisting clients from politics, industry, commerce and private households in the transformation of their energy system. He is co-founder of the Green Energy Center Europe at Technikerstraße 1-3 in Innsbruck AUSTRIA, which has been home to the privately organized Codex partnership of players from industry and startups since 2016. This has given rise to the two research centers "E-West" and "HyWest", which he currently heads as CEO of FEN Research GmbH, founded in 2018. As such, he plays a leading role in nationally and internationally pioneering research projects that focus on the transformation of the energy system. Since 2021, he has served as Austria's official expert in the European Green Hydrogen Agenda.
