Biography

Sven Thieme is a prominent Namibian entrepreneur and serves as the Executive Chairman of Namibia's largest private employer, the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group. He received the Most Distinguished Order of Namibia: First Class in 2014 from President Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob (Republic of Namibia). Thieme previously worked as a chartered accountant and auditor in Luxembourg for Deloitte & Touche before joining O&L in 1998. He has been instrumental in creating joint ventures and establishing the Development Bank of Namibia. Thieme has chaired several boards, including Namibia Breweries Limited, Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Namibian Broadcasting Corporation, and Windhoek Country Club Resort & Casino. A Hydrogen Academy will educate and train locals on hydrogen technology. The station is set to be operational by mid-2024. Solar-Powered Hydrogen Refueling Station: The Cleanergy Solutions Namibia project includes a 10-hectare solar park with a 5-Megawatt Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyser and a 5-Megawatt hour battery. Solar energy powers the hydrogen production facility, supplying hydrogen for various applications. Green Hydrogen Production: The electrolyser produces green hydrogen using solar energy and the Battery Energy Storage System. A hybrid control system ensures stable production and a reliable mini-grid.
