The mission of the Bulgarian Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" (EAMA) is to implement the national policies regarding: the safety of navigation in the maritime spaces and inland waterways of the Republic of Bulgaria; protection of the marine and river environment from pollution; search and rescue in the national SAR area of responsibility; qualification and registration of marine persons; inspection, certification and registration of Bulgarian ships and ship owners; exercising port state control; ensuring the operational suitability, registration and control of ports, as well as control over other activities, ensuring the health and life of seafarers on board ships.

In the context of the event, EAMA will participate in the dedicated panel on maritime security (surveillance, defence etc.), as the Agency represents two of the user communities of the Common Information Sharing System (CISE) - maritime safety (including search and rescue), maritime security and prevention of pollution caused by ships and marine pollution preparedness and response.

As part of the CISE-ALERT project, EAMA, together with other members of the CISE-ALERT Consortium will present the project and its experience with CISE on a dedicated Workshop during this year's EMD.
