COOL4SEA is a Danish Company. For the contribution of the decarbonization efforts of the maritime industry, COOL4SEA has developed a price awarding and patented chiller technology for cooling and air condition onboard ships. The COOL4SEA chiller technology operates without compressor and is driven by waste heat. Thus the technology is a very valuable "low hanging fruit" for utilizing already generated energy onboard ships. Compared to traditional chiller technology the patented COOL4SEA chiller technology can significantly reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emission by 90 %. Besides this, the COOL4SEA technology has further competitive and valuable parameters, such as: - Only water is used as refrigerant, - no harmful refrigerants as HFC or HFO - Up to 70 % of the waste heat inlet to the COOL4SEA chiller can be utilized/converted to cooling power - Generating for example 400 kW of cooling power only requires approx. 12 kW electrical power. - No need for additives. - The COOL4SEA technology is specific designed for maritime applications to have a high efficiency despite vibrations and movement and fluctuations in the waste heat supply.
