MaDaMe and ORMOBASS Projects
About
MaDaMe (Maritime Data Methods for Safe Shipping) and ORM0BASS (Operational R-Mode Baltic Sea System to support resilient navigation) are Interreg Baltic Sea Region program co-funded development projects. Outcome of these projects will increase navigation safety and security, contribute to the achievement of the sustainable shipping in the Baltic Sea Region, and provide valuable input to the international standardization work. MaDaMe e-navigation project promotes the implementation of common, cyber-secure digital fairway services in the Baltic Sea region. The project develops and pilots the new S-100 standard digital services. The 11 project partners and 6 associate partners come from Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, and Estonia. ORM0BASS project aims to provide an alternative R-Mode positioning solution, which is not reliant on satellites, to the Baltic Sea area. During the project the core functionalities for the operational R-Mode Baltic sea system, R-Mode on-board equipment and GNSS degradation monitoring and information service will be developed and piloted. The project consortium comprises of 14 project partners from Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Norway, and Estonia as well as 6 associate partners. The project partnerships present national and regional public authorities, small, medium, and large enterprises and higher education and research institutions. The international Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Association (IALA) participates both projects as an associate partner.
