The climate crisis and needs for decarbonization place significant demands on how we use resources, and we must choose more sustainable paths. To achieve our common goals of a climate-neutral global shipping industry by 2050 it is key to ensure reductions in energy consumption through targeted energy efficiency improvements. The technologies often require little investment, but can offer large savings, making them win-win solutions and reduce fuel costs and emissions.

So how do we ensure a leading EU role across maritime industries and shipping companies? In our workshop, we aim to foster dialogue and discussion on how investments and green goals interact as well as the role of authorities in facilitating a rapid implementation of new solutions. Energy efficiency is one mean towards zero emissions, where EU has a stronghold regarding knowledge and technology.
