Description:
International shipping is bound to reduce its total annual GHG emissions by at least 20%, striving for 30%, as well as reducing its carbon intensity by at least 40% compared to 2008 by 2030. In the EU, the FuelEU Maritime Regulation applies from 2025 and promotes the uptake of low and zero-emission fuels. The production and supply of green fuels is challenging and their availability will determine investments and their uptake by the sector. Cooperation among all actors involved will be key to support the decarbonisation of maritime transport. The goal of the workshop is to discuss the supply chain role in providing access to clean energy and focus on collaborative efforts needed to reach the targets.
