Pitch Session 3 : Using Image to bridge the gap between science, education and policy by Christian Clauwers
How can images be used to inform, raise awareness and bridge the different realities of policymakers and scientists? How can image be a tool to educate and communicate universally?
Christian Clauwers is a professional documentary photographer exploring the relationship between humans and nature, especially around oceans and polar regions, focussing on science, biodiversity and climate change.
As an EU Climate Pact Ambassador and a Fellow of The Explorers Club, Christian presents to a global audience the impact of rising sea levels on islanders, the vulnerability of nature, declining biodiversity and various scientific research projects.
Using visual storytelling, Christian collaborate with governments, scientific institutions and companies to facilitate awareness, understanding and action between each other and the public. He will give a unique insight of scientific research at sea, explain scientific investigation on acidifications and rising ocean temperatures, show how scientists are collecting fundamental ocean data, and much more.
