Director of Espigoladors. My career has been focused on understading food loss and food waste and to act towards its prevention from the ground.
About me
Director of the Fundació Espigoladors, I hold a PhD in Sustainability from the UPC. I devoted my career to study food losses and food waste and to put into practice prevention solutions. I have participated in several national and international projects over the last 10 years. I have coordinated several diagnoses on food loss and waste, and coordinated a sectoral guide on how to prevent food loss and waste prevention plans. I participate in European projects such as FOLOU or CULTIVATE as well as national ones PDApp.
My organisation
Fundació Espigoladors is a non-profit organisation which fights against food waste and losses, while empowering people at risk of social exclusion from a transformative, participative, inclusive and sustainable way.
We are a social enterprise model which works for three social needs at once and interconnects them:working to prevent food loss and food waste, guaranteeing the right to a healthy and sustainable diet and creating job opportunities for collectives at risk of social exclusion.
