3D LiDAR MRS1000. Object detection and navigation support in agriculture | SICK AG
About
Thanks to its four scan planes, the sensor can detect the movements of autonomous vehicles three-dimensionally and assist them in navigation, e.g. through row crops. Using the 3D point cloud, tree trunks or vines can be identified as natural landmarks and the distances between the stands and vegetation determined. The route of the autonomous vehicle can be planned based on this. Thanks to its three-dimensional data acquisition capability, the MRS1000 is able to detect obstacles that project into the path or that are in the way very reliably. This allows the autonomous vehicle to drive around obstacles.
