Fixed charging stations installed either in workplaces and homes or in public parking spaces are a commonly used method for electric vehicle charging so far. The integration of photovoltaics and energy storage systems combined with charge stations is a promising scenario for the sustainable charging of electric vehicles. We provide the innovative solution of coupling the production of clean solar electric power and e-mobility via the development of solar carports. The whole system provides protection to cars against rain, snow, and sun, while simultaneously producing clean electrical energy and charging electric vehicles.
