FH Aachen / IaAM
About
Today, interdisciplinary cooperation is the key to the successful implementation of solutions for the entire value chain of mechanical engineering, from systems engineering and digital product development to the design and manufacturing implementation of all process steps as well as logistics and production optimisation.
The Institute for Applied Automation and Mechatronics at the FH Aachen was founded in spring 2019 by seven professors from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics with the aim of bundling competencies for digitalization in mechanical engineering. Today, interdisciplinary cooperation is the key to the successful implementation of solutions for the entire value chain of mechanical engineering, from systems engineering and digital product development to the design and manufacturing realization of all process steps as well as logistics and production optimization. Today, production-oriented design of all cross-sectional disciplines and the management of products over the entire life cycle up to disposal require comprehensive documentation in the digital twin.
The IaAM supports companies of all sizes in the implementation of digital strategies and offers a broad range of expertise for interdisciplinary projects in applied research and practical implementation.
