EAP Sardenya is the professional team that manages the Primary Care Centre (CAP) in Baix Guinardó, Barcelona, by agreement with the Catalan Health Service (CATSALUT). It serves around 20,000 citizens. It has positioned itself as a centre managed under criteria of social innovation, efficiency, with programmes focused on value and with the person (patient and professional) at the centre of the actions. It has a Teaching Unit, being a university centre of the International University of Catalonia (UIC) and its own Research Unit linked to the IR Sant Pau and the Carlos III Institute. It is a private, non-profit, associative-based entity (EBA). It was a pioneer in Catalonia in the use of Telemedicine and is currently working to coordinate better coordination of the health centre with the care services to create the first fully Digital Primary Care Centre.
