The company Circular Blue, Lda. emerges from the continuity of projects developed by their partners and entrepreneurs, namely the brand https://nietaatelier.com, with international success recognition. The aim for this company is to proceed with the creative process of giving birth to new products from surplus waste in specific geographic areas. Particularly with the application foreseen, AZEB – Azores EcoBlue, it aims to create new products (namely yarn and isolating materials) from marine litter and fishing waste, particularly originating in beaches and fishermen of three Azorean islands: S. Miguel, Faial and Terceira. The application AZEB – Azores EcoBlue is assumed by the promoter as a winning proposal, attending its high level of innovation and disruptive character, not only in terms of R&D, which will result in two different patent filling processes, but mainly because of the highly relevant degree of innovation regarding the territory. The Azores archipelago possesses a significant surplus of waste from the sea and fishing sector, which will be translated into a very relevant waste collection and valorization, supported by a strong circular economy strategy. Circular Blue’s mission statements stand that Sustainability, Circular and Blue Economy are a priority and the company believes that any sector can and should reflect about the integration of sustainable, social and environmental factors within their business plans, strategy and action plans. Within Circular Blue, we believe and want to adopt a proactive contribution which reflects a practical concern regarding material resources management, but also immaterial ones, to positively contribute to our community and reality. We believe that we must consciously and effectively support the urgent matters on the table: climate change, species extinction and material resources finitude. The entrepreneurs of this company and promoters of AZEB – Azores EcoBlue Project have wide experience regarding the transformation of waste into new products and materials and its incorporation within interior design projects and pieces. The demonstrating Circular Blue, Lda 4 prototype aimed as the result of the project AZEB will definitely be an excellent showcase to put Portugal into the path of the main international players within the sustainable construction sector. The project AZEB - Azores EcoBlue will allow Circular Blue, Ld.a to meet its Break-Even Point around middle 2023, supporting its strategy to internationalization and growing path.
