IIS Protewin is a regional initiative launched in the framework of the Walloon smart specialisation strategy (S3) concept introduced by the European Commission, with the aim of providing European regions with a new generation of regional research and innovation strategies. This is a strategic approach to economic development, enabling each region to identify and develop its own competitive advantages. The objective of the IIS Protewin is to strengthen the Walloon protein self-sufficiency by implementing a new and complete plant-based and alternative proteins value chain based on an inclusive and participatory process. IIS Protewin is led by CELABOR SRL and coordinated by Wagralim, the Walloon Competitiveness Cluster in the agri-food sector.
