About

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is an RTO developing competitive and market-oriented product and service prototypes for public and private stakeholders, working across the entire innovation chain: from fundamental and applied research to incubation and technology transfer. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data, and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions, and businesses in their strategies. The research unit 'Environmental Sensing and Modelling (ENVISION)' leads impact-driven research geared toward monitoring, forecasting, and predicting environmental systems in a changing world. POTATO research activities align with ENVISON's key domain on ‘Natural Resources and Agrosystems Under Change,’ delivering technology bricks for climate-smart agriculture and precision farming. LIST also brings recognized expertise in Internet of Things technologies, with focus on the LoRa/LoRAWAN protocols, and integration of IoT with Non-Terrestrial (NTN) networks (satellites, and drones). Leveraging digital technologies and deploying reliable and resilient network infrastructure, LIST enables scalable and efficient solutions for remote sensing applications, smart agriculture, and natural resource management. With extensive experience in coordinating large European projects, LIST has contributed to numerous EU and national initiatives in Earth Observation, Remote Sensing, IoT, and smart agriculture.
